The History of Giving Tuesday

What is Giving Tuesday?

Madera County FCA

The FCA Ministry has been thriving globally for the past 71 years since 1954 but developing the county of Madera has only been going for the past two years.  We really are ground breaking in development of camp, coaches, and community ministry.

FCA History

Where have we been?

Madera County FCA has been gradually growing with the help of our Central Cal Director Pup Nelson overseeing ministry.  Developing campus ministry on our local high schools and putting together a partnership camp with Triumph Volleyball Academy and the Guglielmana family. Coaches ministry as we invite local coaches and their spouse to Monterey, CA for a retreat to invest in their marriage success.  Local Team Sports Camp at Hume Lake as we invite local football programs to Hume Lake for a weekend to team bond and hear the gospel.

  • Campus Ministry: Starting ministry on our local campuses and installing advisors to oversee club life.
  • Coaches Ministry: Inviting Madera County coaches to participate in Fresno County events.  Inviting local coaches to Monterey, Ca for Coaches Time Out Retreat.
  • Camp Ministry: Partnering with Triumph Volleyball Academy in hosting our annual Sand Volleyball Camp.

Where are we going?

Recently FCA has hired our first staff member in Madera County in the last 3 years to specifically focus on our county and schools.  Pat Lynch is blessed to be part of the journey in developing ministry opportunities.  Focussing on immproving our campus ministries and developing new growth opportuities.  Getting back on our Junior High campuses as well as developing new FCA Camps to better equip our coaches and athletes.  Just recently we had our first basketball camp at Liberty High.

Secondly developing other ministry opportunities in FCA Action Sports.  Pat is looking all the sports that we have in our county and Engaging, Equiping and Empowering volunteers to run these ministries.  One being our new Mountain Bike ministry in connecting with all ages to develop a group and connect.  The opportunites are endless in connecting with the commuity and presenting the gospel.

Night of Champions we host our first End of the Year celebration as we highlight our Philanthropist of the Year, Coaches of the Year, and Senior athletes from each school.

  • Developing Campus Ministries: FCA Clubs can be found on each of our 7 high school campuses within the county. We've got Junior High and Elementary schools to start.
  • Creating Local Camps: We just hosted our first basketball camp at Liberty High and we are in the works to begin even more camps on more campuses.
  • Developing FCA Action Sports: Mountain Bike group is starting up with the guidance of Cyrus Christensen and we are interested in starting more all age groups that enjoy sports.
  • Adding FCA Sports Leagues: We've hired Richard Avila to begin putting together Christian based leagues in and around our county.
  • Adding a Coaches ministry: Connecting one on one with our coaches and guiding them spiritually.  Hosting meet-ups and bible studies.

All that with the help of our Lord and Savior leading the way.
