A Character Coach is a volunteer who engages, equips, and empowers coaches and athletes spiritually through personal, character, and leadership development.  The mobilization of Character Coaches is a key initiative for FCA as we pursue thee mission of leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. 

Giving a weekly devotion or character talk is not being a Character Coach; that's being a guest speaker.  A Character Coach establishes a consistent presence with specific teams and sets the tone for future ministry opportunities in huddles, 1 on 1 discipleship, and through events.

WITH FCA

This is a volunteer position through FCA that requires you to essentially be part of a program and or team.  Attending team practices and games is essential.  Frequency is up to you and the program.  This position works with the program they are serving directly investing in coaches and athletes.  Steps 1-4 bellow lay out the foundation of FCA's requirements.

WITH A DISTRICT

Each local district may vary and we have no control of their requirements needed.  Typically they may need a current TB test, Live Scan on file, Youth Protection requirements, and application with the district.  All and or some maybe required. Travel accommodations may vary between districts in travel with team bus or driving yourself to away contests. 

FCA's requirements are listed here in Steps 1-4 to begin.  Requires setting up an account with FCA University online for training purposes.

You are essentially part of the school and serve as an FCA representative.  Getting engaged with coaches and athletes through engage, equip and empower.  Attending practices regularly and games is essential.  Development opportunities to engage with coaches and athletes through quick team bible studies and or personal connections.
