But God always has a bigger and better plan and we present to you James Hodgins a 2 time Super Bowl athlete winning one with the LA Rams.

The launch of the new ministry led by Riding Coach Gina Samper marks an exciting chapter for FCA Outdoors, as it establishes its first presence on the West Coast at the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds. This initiative, known as the FCA Coarsegold Rodeo Club, reflects a dynamic blend of faith, community, and the love of outdoor sports. As the first of its kind in the region, the club aims to offer a unique platform for individuals to engage in enriching activities that foster spiritual growth and fellowship within the rodeo community. Coach Gina Samper, with her passion and leadership, is poised to inspire and unite participants, creating a supportive environment where values and faith are at the forefront of every event. This ministry not only celebrates the rich tradition of rodeo but also promotes a positive, inclusive space for people of all backgrounds to connect and grow together.

FCA Basketball Camp

On Saturday, November 15 Madera County FCA will be hosting a Basketball skills camp for grades 1-8. All are welcome to attend.

This camp will have high school coaches as well as FCA Staff leading drills and groups. We've invited Noel Felix to join us as a guest speaker to give some tips to being successful in sports and life.

The grade 1-4 session will start at 9:00am sharp and will end at 11:00am. The grades 5-8 session will begin at 11:30am and will end at 1:30pm. Each camper will receive a FCA shirt and be offered a FCA bible to keep. Cost of the camp is $25 per camper and asked to bring a water bottle to fill up.

On Saturday, September 27 the Madera County FCA ministry hosted their 2nd Annual golf fundraiser at the Madera Golf and Country Club.

The day was filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and a shared mission to support the FCA's ongoing efforts in nurturing the spiritual and athletic growth of students. The organizers extend their heartfelt gratitude to all supporters for making the fundraiser a memorable and impactful occasion.

FCA Leadership Summit

On Sunday, September 14th the Madera County FCA is hosting their annual FCA Leadership Summit at Valley West Christian Center.

The campus Huddle is a major part of the FCA Ministry around the globe and strengthening our adult and student leaders is key to the success.

Starting at 5:00 PM in the main sanctuary we will have worship, dinner and training on how to run a successful Huddle. Our Director Pat Lynch is hosting the event and excited to host the 2nd Annual Madera County event.

All are welcome to attend the event and learn about the possibilities of FCA on our campuses and around the county.

Staff, Advisors, Student Leaders, Youth Pastors, Speakers and Parents are all invited to attend. Evening is expected to end at 8:00 PM.

So come and learn about this successful global ministry and meet others who are working to make a positive mark on the community thru Jesus Christ.

From the beginning, we thought it was going to be a skeptical season, truly based on the struggles, effort, and dedication. As time went on, my teammates and I began to believe that it was bigger than us. We prayed before every game and never played for ourselves, but for him. We truly started feeling his presence when the playoffs came around. We won our first playoff game 9-4 and knew that there was more hard work to do. Our game against Wasco started like every other game. The nerves were a little more heightened, but we prayed just like usual. It started a little rocky with a few infield errors. We were down by 1 at the top of the 7th. Xaiya was at third, and me at second. Leila kept fouling balls off, and I had started to pray at second base. She hit a 3-run homerun, and Macie Webster shut it down in the bottom of the 7th. That’s when we realized that God was with us .

You can feel it in your chest that there was something there. From then on, God moved with us at practices too. Sometimes we needed to remind ourselves in the middle of practice of our goals and to work for him. We went on to play in the Valley game at Fresno State. As we stepped on the field, we all took it in for a second before we all held hands and prayed. We prayed a little more that day, asking him to take the nerves away and to be with us one step at a time. The game ended up going very well, and we won 12-6. When we won, we immediately celebrated, but stopped to take a second and thank God. We prayed again and, with tears, thanked him for his strength, courage, and wisdom. We couldn't have done it without him. The difference in this season compared to previous seasons is the chemistry and love we have for one another, but most importantly, every one of us believed in the power of God. Things happen for a reason, and I truly believe that because of our hard work and doing the work of sharing God, we were rewarded with a ring.

Look for Ari as she steps into her next chapter growing as an athlete playing softball for the Fresno State Bulldogs.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Madera County is on a mission to expand its spiritual influence by establishing a presence on junior high campuses and initiating a huddle at Madera Community College. With an aim to connect with

more coaches and athletes, the organization is also looking to add local camps to its initiatives. As Pat Lynch, the Area Director, states, “We are positioning ourselves to reach every coach and athlete.” However, achieving this vision requires the support of local donations and volunteers. There are opportunities to start a local campus huddle, be it a multi-sport or team-specific huddle, each offering unique perspectives. Moreover, launching a new camp begins with a simple willingness to say, “Yes, let's do it.” Lynch expresses readiness to contribute effort towards broadening their reach. This is a call to action for those who wish to volunteer with the FCA and see where their faith might lead them.
